Are failed regeneration cycles logged?

Hi All, I'm after a little advice. My brother has an altea (2007 with the 170bhp PD engine) that he has owned for the past 5 years. In that time, the DPF light has come on 3 time max and each time, a quick blat down the neares dual carriageway has sorted it. About 2 months ago, he took it to his local dealership to have the injectors and loom replaced as per the recall. Since then, the DPF light has come on 3 times, and as before, the first 2 times, a blast down the dual carriageway made the light go out. However, the third time, hit didnt and the car went in to limp home mode. HE took it to a VAG specialist who said the DPF was 100% full and given the recent recall work, it needed to go to Seat.

So the car was taken back to Seat and they have said there are no sensors that are faulty. They also say that (surprise surprise) the injectors are also fitted correctly (well, I'm sure the are NOW). Anyway, the Seat dealers told me brother that a diagnostic scan shows that they did not complete the previous two DPF regeneration cycles prior to the car going in to limp mode and so they will not sort it out under warranty. This sounds like complete BS to me but does anyone know if the ECU stores any such information. I've told my Bro to call their bluff and ask to see this so called log.

I find it somewhat coincidental that this problem arises so soon after the injector recall work was done, especially as others have experience similar issues (across the VAG range) following new injectors being fitted, and that there does not appear to be any other (as yet) identified cause for the DPF becoming blocked.

Seat UK have washed their hands of it, simply saying it's out of warranty

Any advice would be appreciated

you will need to check this on a vagcom
this will tell you if it has failed regenerations and how full the dpf is
you could even do a manual regen to clear it

I've got a micro can cable and the software but no access to the car right now. Can you tell me where in vagcom it is stored?

you will find details in advanced measuring blocks
you will need too log in with a code and go to basic settings to do forced regen
check in measuring blocks 70-77
