hi i bought my car last week and cant work out if they come with a alarm as standard? when i press the button to lock the doors the indicators also flash does this mean its got a alarm?

Yes it does. To confirm this leave the window down and 'arm' lock the doors (so the little light flashes). Leave it 30 seconds or so (the time out period) then open the door with your hand through the window.........the alarm will sound... deactivate with keyfob.

on mine you have to press the remote to lock and hold it a second for it to activate
it only sounds a horn in a cheap ford stylee and is pretty cack really

Mine the same. You have to press the lock a second time on the remote to get the LED next to the drivers door pin to come on, though it doesn’t sound the horn.
Be careful with them bonnet pin sensors as mine was sticking so even when the bonnet was fully up the sensor was still fully depressed, lol. Was a simple fix though.
a bit off topic but does anyone know of an alternative to paying 60 quid for a remote from a stealer? my car just came with what i now know to be the spare, cant find anything on fleabay

The remotes have to be programmed if i remember rightly so you will still have to go to a stealer, also if you need the key part as well as the remote part of the key then these have to be laser cut by SEAT for my old Ibiza it was £130 all together

You could try your local locksmith. Some do replacement car keys that will program for your car as well. Have a look in yellow pages.

That's a bit of a worry - is it actually any good at all then?? My insurance company didn't seem to have a problem when I transferred (just bought it recently).
If you are in the situation of having to pay £130 for a key fob then definitely consider having a full re-install. I paid £300 all-in to have a Cobra CAT1 system fitted to my old mk2 Golf.

Christ! thank god we dont need the flip ones! i'm alright for keys i got one cut from the locksmith with a transponder in it, i'm just lazy and now its cold i want to be outside the car trying to find the key hole as little as possible!!
