hi there all,
am about to purchase some coilovers for my leon cupra r due to want to try have less body roll. have looked at ap coilovers that awesome advertise on here , looks like a few of you fellow cupra r owners have bought these several months ago for your car so am asking for your feedback please.
do you feel they help the car grip the road more than the standard suspension?
those of you that have had them installed for several months are they still as good as the day they was bought as i hear they supose to be very good quality?

any other comments you have would be great to and if any1 has a picture of there car on these coiovers would be great so i could see what they look like on?

many thanks all and look forward to your reply. :)

If you wnat vastly reduced body roll with hugely better handling and all together feeling car get an R32 23mm front ARB, S3 strutt brace, Neuspeed 28mm rear ARB and upgrade the wish bone bushes to TT roadster and LCR new ones.
no need to buy shitty coilovers this WILL sort out all your problems

ap coilovers are good, and they WILL improve handling IF setup corrctly.

coilovers along with the abovementioned mods make for a great handling car.

they are definatly not shitty coilovers as junior so eliquently puts it!!

No they're still on . I'm considering going back to fixed springs and dampers, Weitec kit but I can't justify them at the mo. The ride has improved a little with more use. I only do small mileage though but I think they should have softened by now. I still find them noisy and slow speed manoeuvres and the rebound is still a little harsh.
Ride hide is spot on though :cartman:

shouldnt need spacers maey, make sure you get right cupra r fitment not the cupra, arb mountings different.

i would go for a spring and damper setup personally, not coilies as they would be a little to harsh for me.

probably worth doing the arb, bushes, mounts first, then see if you feel the need to lower it

As above, set up right and they will transform the handling of the car, however, I speak from previous experience with Jap cars WITH ARBs. Sadly, SEAT cut corners here and I can really tell the difference...LCR vs CTR in the corners...no comparison really :(

but if you add front r32 arb, and a rear arb rom nuespeed 28mm, then you will really notice the difference....

add, tt bushes, spacers and coilies and youll have go kart like handling and a turbo to play with not a panties vtec that takes 6000k revs to do owt.

plus ctr styling....yuk

As James has said, I have what he has suggested fitted and I'd well fancy my chances against one of the VTEC mob and thats with 93,000 miles OEM shocks and springs

Of course, with fitting ARBs and bushes to an LCR, there's no question about it. I just was just referring to the handling with fitting coilovers alone and no further mods. I.E. CTR with coilovers (rest of suspension OEM) vs LCR with coilovers (rest of suspension OEM)...CTR would have the upper hand.

also the ctr has a lsd lcr standard doenst, so add a diff to this and the lcr will be the better handling car, but your talking a lot of dosh here

thats how ford get away with non turbo cars

id much rather pay the lower premium on lcr, and spunk 1200 quid on a peloquins or quaife, 280 bhp lcr with arbs, peloquins.... now thats a proper car
