Hi all, just picked up my new Ibia Cupra TDI which is great - but the lag is mental compared to the wife's Fabia vRS.

I used to have an analogue tuning box on my old MKIV Golf 130 which didn't seem to do a lot apart from smoothing out the low down torque and making the car feel slower :(

So, are the newer digital tuning boxes any good? Anone used a box on the PD160 engine?

Going off track slightly, if I were to go for a remap are there any other big names to consider apart from Jabba, AMD and Revo?

I realise the turbo is bigger on the 160, but it is SOOOOO laggy. The car has only done 300 miles so hopefully it will loosen up a bit.

Generally they dont get good reviews on here, they get slated, im sure some one will be by in a bit.

Id go for a remap if you are serious about improving things. as for other companies there is also custom code.

Plus if the car is brand new I would wait a few months as the turbo does loosen up a little.

James, analogue or digital it doesnt matter essentially tuning boxes just increase the fuel being chucked into PDs by fooling the fuel temp sensor. A proper remap of the ECU is the only real and safe way to improve things.

Upsolute and Custom Code, plus the tuners who lurk round here tempting you to part with your cash, I'm sure they'll pop up soon :)
