Anyone use tyre sealant?

Anyone use tyre sealant? Such as UltraSeal.

"A small quantity of liquid gel solution is installed before the puncture, it is then always on guard and permanently seals all safely repairable punctures..."

I was wondering about trying this as my Leon never came with a spare, and I just have to cross fingers that I don't get a puncture etc.

Have seen the stuff advertised but personally stay well clear. Would not want to risk it. Rather the tyre was flat and changed for the spare at least that way I know there was a problem. You could drive along with dozens of repaired holes and nothing will convince me it would be as safe as a non-punctured tyre. I won't even have a puncture repaired I don't think it is worth the risk.

Hi.

I have used this sealant various brands on the market in my 4x4 days as offroading you get plenty of punctures.
I tried it in my road car a astra at the time. I never got a puncture but always had a vibration like slight out of balance which only started after I fitted the sealant.
It does work but not ideal for high speed motorway driving in my opinion.

Use it for get you home - its got me out of a few problems !! but I would not trust it for sustained high speed @ 70+

Yes but how do you know you have had a puncture is my point. The stuff you put in after you have a puncture would be OK to get you home but the sealant talked about is I believe the stuff you leave in and forget about.

The punture sensor that picks up differatial rolling tyre speeds would indicate a punture or a slow flat but the stuff IS only a temp measure - for safety reasons. ...............................................
