The stereo does stick out a little from the dash due to it having quite a thick face plate.

I think mine was around the same price.

Yeah just get the facia from halfords or your nearest Seat dealer. They cost about £10

To remove the old stereo I just used the JVC security keys

There aren't many buttons, the ones that there are light up blue wich can'b be changed. Only the screen background can be changed.

There is no flashing light when the facia is removed.

The sound quality is good as the standard speakers are actually quite good.

If I had one gripe it's the controls are a bit clumbsy. It is not straight forward to change radio station

Your right there, on firmer suspension its a pain to change stations, oh and to get around the not being able to play dvd's when driving, crimp the handbrake sensor wire to the negitive

@ Craigc

You can modify the 2 "flaps" on the side of the radio and with this install the radio app 8mm deeper.

I did this with my VDO Dayton navigation, Result is much nicer and it dosent look like the radio tries to touch the reasr seat...

Just got the JVC :D

I can't quite visualise what you'd mod to make it fit deeper

Do you install the cage first and then insert the JVC through the Autoleads facia adaptor or the other way around

Then what do you recommend trimming - I assume you mean the Autoleads facia adapter

Hi,

It is quite easy.

Out with the Aura radio and in with the cage for the JVC unit. If you put in the 2 flaps first the cage will be app 8 mm further out.
Now you modify the flaps by cutting of the plastic that normally would be behind the radio/cage - Then you fix the flaps with some "gun gum" or similar tape.

Connect the radio - push it in and be happy that it is looking more OE as the normal installations we see...

Hope it is clear now...

:)

Cheers for that.

I've used the Autoleads facia which goes completely across and behind the cage but is only about 5mm thick.

Looks pretty good but agree it would be better if it was back a bit further.
