Well the 1st real bit of cold weather has come and in the space of a few hours my car went from starting to battery been flat and on kitchen table charging up!

has anybody else had to do this yet?i bet there a few struggle in the morning!

nevermind guess its new battery time!:cry:

dont think its a **** battery,its over 3years old so its probably past its best and its the 1st time since July 2005 when i got the car its refused to start!
so its sod all to do with it not been looked after,i think its just the fact its gettin old,plus its -2 here and its telling me time for a new battery

its been fine untill lastnite so i think the cold must of killed it,like i said ive had it about 3years though maybe just over so its about time for a new one......but it wont be getting one as i cant afford it so it staying parked up untill i get some xmas money:cry:

3 year old battery should be fine. Normally good for about 5 years.
Colder weather in some regions will do them in a little more. Getting a decent replacment will help longevity.
I've always been a Varta fan for car and bike.

yer ive just been having a look at them,bosch one at halfords is £110 :censored:

got a mate works for Andrew Page so got him getting me a price now see what he can get.

has anybody bought batteries off the net or just go to halfords or local little car shop??

Same here... I dont do cheap batteries - too much hassle :)

thats whats in now,but its not the battery i taken it to halfords and its got87% charge in it so its something else.just been torking to a mechanic and he said it could be crankshaft sensor???:confused:

Just because it as a charge does not mean it is any good.
You need a drop test on it by the like of kwik fit.

Is the car turning over with it in now?

yer its trying to start but just wont go,wont jump off either just tried with the wife!
mechanic man said sounds like crankshaft sensor from what i told him,hes done a few on VAG cars and all had the same problems.

havent got vag-com but i got a code reader yesterday but it was after battery was out and wasnt anything?
im going to go have a look now and see if anything comes up.
where is the sensor?i know what it looks like of google but cant see for looking its driving me mad.
