Hi all

I'm looking to get a Leon Cupra 1.9tdi. I found one that looks ok to me but is there any major and obvious things I should look out for when buying?

Whats the deal with the remaping o is that just on petrol engines and also the thing about drilling holes in the airbox?

Cheers

SOMEONE HAS DRILLED HOLES IN MY 1.9 TDI 110 AIR BOX!!!

wish I took the damn engine apart before I bought ffs

Remapping is on tdi's as well 150 bhp will go to 190 I think...

Can anyone point us to a webby that might be telling people to drill holes in their air boxes lol(might be able to find out what they have done to our cars)

In the "olden" days, this was done to get more air into the filter, making the engine fire better, therefore making it perform better = faster

With the current engines though, the engines run hot, so there will be more hot air going into the filter (hot air in engine is a no no), making it perform worse (search for heat soak).

This is why I am confused.com because I understand hot air is crap and cold is good.

So in other words the loser who owned my car needs his head kicking in?

Should I be looking at buying a new box? or will covering up the holes be ok?
