I might look into a coilover kit then. Can always run the kit at standard height i suppose.

Koni FSD are not coilovers but are very trick new dampers, coilovers are great if you need height adjustment and what to 'tune' your damping etc....... the Konis solution is a bit of compromise and gets highly recommended with Eibach springs (-20mm on std springs)

Probably cheaper than coilovers too

Could you use the Koni FSD's with standard springs?

That I don't know maybe ask Awesome.....

but clear your mind of thinking low = more scrapes

My local council believe speed bumps are essential on every single road and after lowering the car was way better........yes LESS scraping

this is 20mm drop

Why do half a job?

(Not being rude just playing devils advocate)

Because some people can't get into their driveways if the car is too low! And the FSD's offer a better ride, better handling and don't mean you have to park on the street! ;)

I would say the Neuspeed is better quality than the Eibach, the fittings fixtures etc are much better and the finish on the bar is better. Not that it makes any REAL difference.

I can't remember what size Eibach I had on now, might have been 25mm, but I remember that it performed like it was stiffer than the Neuspeed 25 on the middle setting, to the point where the Eibach was slightly too stiff (stock suspension, stock front ARB).

Did you have you rear bar set on the middle setting, Steve?

Yes

I'm not sure if what I have typed is clear or not but lowering the car 20mm will not reduce clearance in the 'real world' due to the uprated suspension suffering less from nose dive etc under load.

As long as it improves the handling surely it's worth it even if i don't uprate the springs?

The dampers do their job but the springs also affect;-

Less lateral rolling
Less nose lift and dive during acceleration and braking
You will also find the lower centre of gravity will help
It's a combination proven to be effective (people like Yermother run this set up)
The springs only cost about £100 (you are paying for fitting already)
