All right people,

After getting a brand new genuine garret turbo fitted last year, after the original turbo failed after 9 years, this one also failed last week, potentially causing more damage to the car. I refuse to pay another £800 for a new one.

So does anyone know of one that is for sale?

If I can't find one I'll be selling my car as a none runner

Thanks

There are plenty of places that advertise reconditioned OEM turbos that use genuine parts etc. for around 300 notes so you effectively get a new one back. Don't shoot me though as I have never tried one of these services but there should be one not too far away from you, just ring around a few and ask questions.

I would be asking myself though why has it failed so soon. how has it failed this time, has it imploded itself or just started whining badly. When you changed it last was a new oil feed fitted and if it destroyed itself what other parts did you replace to ensure no fragments were left behind in the induction.
