Last week I put my car on a RR with a local garage and this is the graph I got.

Its a old dyno and the graph didn't show torque or revs, or bhp for that matter, only power in kw and speed, obviously I wasn't too pleased with the graph I got so today I went to engine advantages in Witham and put it on their RR and I got a much better graph (below)

I'm very happy with the results, 190.5 bhp @ 4.1rpm and 299.8 lbs/ft torque @ 2.655rpm. On the road the car drives really well and the power delivery is smooth all the way to 4k revs and the graph seems to confirm this.

Any thoughts on the graph are welcome.

First graph is power vs speed, with gear changes included. 199bhp and 254lbft torque. kW is power, just expressed in a different way. The older Clayton dynamometers had two dials, one speed and the other power.

For some reason this is the torque fig shown on the first graph but not the max torque, but where the max power was achieved (4100rpm). The power is 8.5 more in the first graph - may have been down to different conditions on the day. There is actually very little difference in the two figs quoted for torque. I'm assuming the figs written down were calculated in some way by the operator on the first graph.

Make sense, or have I  everyone? It's really a case of how to interpret the figs :)
