I just fitted my self an Uprated DV that i bought off Ebay it looks just like a Forge 007p but without the branding for my MKIV Golf. However, it only comes with one spring. It really doesn't make much more noise than the standard bosch one. I think it might not be opening? What is peoples opinion on who to tell if it is or not? I've fitted it as a direct replacement and NOT relocated it or anything.

Also i've heard of reversing the DV that it makes a little louder noise especially with a CAI. Do people know if i can do that with mine, or if it specific type of valve?

Just to note i've replaced my Lambda sensor (pre-cat) today as well and cleared all the error codes with my VAG-COM and the car feels soooo much nicer and more responsive.

All ideas will be welcomed :)

yep just one spring...but the quality of the spring u have is questionable if the unit isnt forge

they dont make much noise though...no whoosy whoosy
but if u reverse them they make a chirp when u back off the gas

Hi guys thanks for the replies.

I've read a lot about DV's so i'm not asking the dumb questions that are plastered all over the forum.

I don't really want the whoosy whoosy thing as i know no Atmos for DBW cars. But what i was wondering about was weather you can reverse a 007P to get the chirp when you back off?! I'm just a little scared i might break something or do the car no good!

When i was talking about the springs i meant i was only supplied with one spring, unlike the forge units which i think u get supplied with 2 or 3 different softness of springs? If it was the case of needing a specific rate spring i'd get into contact with Forge to see about buying some because i read the other day somewhere on here that you can get new springs from them.

Cheers

You can order the Forge with different springs but when we have people running 350bhp+ cars with standard springs it makes me think the normal ones are ok ;)

The DV won't sound louder on it's own than the std Bosch unit

My suggestion is haul your ass down to

Forge Motorsport
1A Ashville Trd Est
Bristol Road
Gloucester
GL2 5EU

Flash the plastic and get one of these, you car will sound fantastic.

Tried to get one for my car but it didn't fit :(

MMmm thats sweet, sure is expensive though but saying that most are!

I'm happy with my current setup now tbh. Scince i changed the O2 Lambda sensor its like driving a different car! The DV does sound a little bit louder than the standard Bosch crap. Was just going to see what results would reversing it have without CAI. I guess the only way to find out is to try it!

I'm not worried about springs really just figured it was more important with people with IHI conversions etc.

Cheers guys

ive read on here somewhere that the forge 700p isnt quite as good reversed although not sure why? but i doubt youd do any damage. im sure forge would tell you if you contact them. there very helpful.

i found once id been chipped lag was more noticeable so forge sent me a stiffer spring and it helped loads. good bit of kit.

anyways as long as it works!;)

hope your enjoying the car

Forge say that you can run one either way round, makes no difference.

The only reason that there are some opinions to not run it "reversed" is that "it sounds a bit gay"

The more I think about it, the more I believe it will make absolutely no diference which way it is fitted. It's a valve to release pressure, not one to flow large volumes of air. The only difference is the sound of that pressure passing the piston face-on, or side-on................

The ONLY thing I can think (not that I'm a god or tuning or owt) is that running it reversed might help the piston come off it's seat quicker as the boost is pushing the piston axially, rather than against it radially (?).

Although, if you don't have a strong enough spring MAYBE it can lift the piston of it's seat when it shouldn't be lifting.

Life's too short, run it normally.

good points i'll just have to see what it does when i reverse it. If it sounds gay i'll just put on the right way around. U know most people do it for the novelty of it then get bored. Probably will get bored too.
