Howdy all.

I've not long had my Ibiza Cupra 180 which is already lowered on Koni springs (i think) so the ride is rock solid.

My issue is that over certain bumps the car gets confused and hesitates for a split second as if the brakes are applying or something so any suggestions or has anyone else had this issue?

Also on a more positive note, i'm starting to play with it so what tends to be more effective, an induction kit or just sticking with the airbox but adding in a panel filter??

Cheers

are you sure your hesitation isn't the traction control kicking in and stopping it spinning up on said bumps

keep an eye on the orange TC light on the instrument cluster

as for induction I think the best bet is a de-restricted air box and a green cotton panel filter

Is the hesitation worse in the wet?
If so my guess would be traction control as well.
Depending on age and mileage you might want to check bushes too.

I'd fit a good induction kit for best results. Not cheap but worth it!

This probably isn't it but I will explain the problem I had when I first got my car (mine was second hand)

Sometimes after going over bumps or really flooring it, my car would jolt sharply, the diesel coil light would flash and then it would continue fine, this last about 0.5 seconds, but you deffintly noticed it. It was kind of like the engine stopped for a split second.

After working with the stealer we found a sensor had broken and what was happening was sometimes after going over bumps or flooring it, the sensor would knock, sending false readings to the ECU causing mis-readings and doing funny things with the engine. Not sure what the sensor was, but was behind the dashboard somewhere.

I only had the car few weeks so they fitted for free, couple weeks later, started again, I went back, same sensor, they demanded £75 as the sensor wasn't covered by warrenty, trouble was, this time when it went, the car refused to start and just concked out sometimes. So my and my dad argued that this WILL come under the warrenty as the engine is controlled by the ECU, if this is failing to work, for what ever reason, this is a car engine fault, the car CANNOT work without a working ECU so that is just the same. They agreed to replace it for free, and a year later, no problems.

Probably not your problem, but nobody has seen this before on these forums then so just saying incase
