Hi all,
I have been driving an Altea XL 2010 1.8 TSI with an automatic DSG gearbox for a few years now but recently it started showing issues with the gearbox recently: driving 80km/h the car was in 6th gear, it suddenly dropped it to the 2nd and kept it there, this happened afew times and the check engine light came on. It was showing a gearbox pressure sensor error. The light now is gone but after the mechanic looked at it, I was told a bunch of different parts would need to be changed and at that point changing it to an another used one would be cheaper.
Maybe any of you how reliable are the used gearboxes of this type? I heard most of them have a lot of problems and are very hard to fix...
I saw some VWs and Skodas use the same one.
Is it possible to fit one from similar make of one of those cars or a Seat Leon but from a 2.0 engine (to 1.8 in mine)?
I don't know much about cars and don't know any guys who knows a guy haha, so any advice would appreciated
