Altea Problems

Hi, All, went to my Dealer Today as i have a few problems with my 05 Altea TDI Sport, firstly the standard Radio when playing cd's skips all the time and secondly and have the wind noise from the drivers window, I had the mirror kit fitted as i was told this was the problem, but to no avail, the dealer said that the skipping on the cd's was because seat radios dont like playing recordable cd's which i find hard to believe, 99% of my music is all recordable cd's, the dealer said i should try original cd's, what are your thoughts on these matters? The car is still under warranty by the way.

I fitted the window kit myself so I know it's been fitted correctly. It made a big difference to low speed wind noise, but at motorway speeds there's still noise. It's acceptable now though. As for the cd thing, I don't know as I never play cds. However, the wife does, and they're mainly recorded dvd-r discs (not dvd+r btw) and she's never mentioned that they skip.

try recording a music CD at a sloer speed than the max. its been known before that some CD player dont like the speed at which the CD was recorded. Slower recorded speed like x4 or x10 usually work better.

Do you have wind noise in your car? The part is a dealer option and is a set of seals which go underneath the mirror housing to stop wind whistling through it.

I have a spare in the garage, but with yours being LHD they might be different? If not you're welcome to have them.

Part number is 5PO 857 939 A.

Wind noise yes i know it, i hate it, the only bad thing about the Alteas, my car is from 07 and the bad problems should only be on the early models, Not true..
I dont think there is any differens on LHD or RHD, so if you feel for sending a little letter to Denmark it would be nice.
PS. i have now got the coolant cap.
