Altea interior lights

Good evening all,

I have just aquired a 54 plate Altea. (Yesterday, so it's a bit early to comment yet!) The courtesey light switch, the one in the headlining, seems to have a loose connection. Does anyone know how to remove the panel to get at it?
Also, I like to carry a spare battery for the remote locking/unlocking keyfob, (2 button type,) but I can't find my way into that either, so if you could............

Regards

Hi
The interior light unit just clips out of the head lining, you can carefully push your fingers around the edge and pull it down. If you have one like mine then go over a road hump quickly and it falls out. must put some more sticky tape around it.

As to the key. Open up the key it operational position. You will see a small slot in the recess where the key blade is stored. Get a screw driver the width of this slot and push in and twist. this will release the 2 half's of the body. Now use an electrical screwdriver to seperate the top from the bottom. Now you will see the battery.

Thanks Mike, Iwill need titanium fingers to prise mine out, I was obviously not being brutal enough. Same with the key. I'm just too gentle.

Further to Mike's advice on removing the interior light panel:
It can be prised out as Mike suggests, but having done it this way I suggest the following:-

Prise out the translucent lamp cover from the front, (windscreen) edge.
[This is as far as you need to go to change a bulb.]
Behind this cover you will see four barbed lugs which hold the housing into the roof lining. Press them in and the panel will pop out unharmed.
