Altea DIY cambelt change?

Hi,

My wife's Altea is approaching 40k miles and 4 years and I would appreciate advice on what parts are required to carry out a DIY cambelt change? I have changed cambelts in the past and am generally pretty capable mechanically but I need advice on which parts need to be changed (eg. tensioners, water pump etc.)

The car is a 1.6 litre Altea Essence 1.6 petrol which I think is 8 valve SOHC.

Questions:
What do I need?
Where can I buy a kit?
How long does it take to replace?
Any special tools required?
Anything to watch out for during replacement?

Many thanks,
Craig.

See Davis @ SERE motors, he has a section on the forum. He will sort you out with a cambelt kit. Special tools required i would imagine cam lockout pins/tool and few.

Water pump is best replaced at same time, saves loads on labour for the initial ~£23 outlay.
