Altea CD player

Hi do any of you guys know how to remove a CD player from an Altea? I need to get to the back of it to see if I can fit my Connects2 so that my ipod will fit into the car.

Any photo's or information on how to remove the unit would be a great help.

Thanks

Think you mean the head end rather than CD player ?. If it's the headend you push out the four or so lugs that hold it in round the edge. Normally you use little metal bits that get supplied with car radios for this, failing this you need to improvise [looking at the front of a CD case whether that could be chopped up into strips and slid in the gap, get the idea], each lug is held out of the way then you pull the unit forwards.

Yeh sorry your right it is the head unit I'm talking about. When we bought the car the dealer said that they don't sell the removal key's but following your advice I have had a good look and it looks like a sony key may help remove the head unit.

Thanks

Couple of pic's attached I got from someone else a while back when I asked the same sort of question. Shows how the head unit comes out using the removal keys. Small thin metal strips should do also.
