Altea aerial replacement

i am after changing my standard aerial for my 12 plate Altea.
The one on the car hits the garage roof so i was looking at a sharkfin type or stumpy one.
I take it that this is a simple job.
Can anyone recommend one so that i don't get a poor signal.

Just a thought, you don't have sat nav or DAB in the car do you? That might limit your choices as they're both combined within some aerials.

Okay. I can't help with a sharkfin or suchlike, but I replaced the antenna and base on my Altea, and used one which was from the Ibiza as I recall. Slightly smaller.

Hi, I tried to fiddle with mine when I had an Altea, and bought a sharkfin-style aerial. Even after connecting the power feed wire to the fuse box, radio reception was sketchy at best. Shame, because it did look good, and once I got all the bits together, it wasn't that difficult a job. I had to put it all back to stock and settle for a slightly shorter aerial, but with no impact on radio reception. The Altea was a 2006 model, and the sharkfin aerial was not the dearest I had come accross...
