Evening people,

I'm just looking for some tips. I've bought a gorgoeus completely standard black Cupra. I'm considering getting the standard wheel sprayed an anthracite grey, but was looking for some tips on other wheels. I dont want big alloys, just some nice 15/16's that dont look rediculous. I like modest looking wheels.

I might lower it a little bit as well, especially if im going to get different wheels. Anyone got tips on springs etc to use, and how low to go. I dont want it to look obviously lowered, just a bit but also making it stiffer.

Once i've done that i'll be popping to Jabba for them to have a little play with! :)

Cheers people,

Glassy

You will be advised by everyone on here not to just fit springs as they fook the standard shocks very quickly. 17's dont look that big also when they are on the car too 15 are definatly too small

Yep, I meant shocks as well. I've changed the springs on their own before, and its pointless other than the look. I plan to tune it up, so I need to get some half decent stuff fitted, but I dont want to spend silly money.

Any tips on 16's then?

I think I remember someone posting on here who had deep dish 15s on and was going for the Euro look, and it was proper nice.

Yeah, they are a nightmare to clean and look a bit like "look at me!" wheels... I just want something modest that looks like it belongs on the car. If I dont find anything, I might just get the standard ones sprayed anthracite. I've seen that on a silver one, and it looked decent.

Personally, I love these wheels. Think they look great on a mk 3

get some jamex/vmaxx coilovers, you can get them for about £280 now and for that money, you cant complain, you then have adjustable ride height too.

I've booked my Cupra wheels in to be refurbished and resprayed in anthracite next Monday, so i'll see what that looks like. I think i'll order the jamex/vmaxx kit next week and get a strut brace fitted at the same time.

I'll get some pics up soon, altho its completely standard at the moment so not a lot to look at.

that second kit looks just like springs and shocks where as the first are coilovers. Big boys toys do them a bit cheaper i think, if not try ebay.

£250 seems a bit cheap + it doesnt look like they come with a warranty... I'm pretty sure you have to be careful with the coilover kits. I'm going to go with the FK High-Sport coilover kit I reckon - £450, but they are supposed to be decent.

waste of money! I had fk and my mate had those £250 stylees on his, mine corroded more than his in 5 months, and he never let me hear the last of it! i think your paying £200 for a label with FK highsports to be honest (and if you do decide to go for highsports, big boys toys do them for £350)

Just got the FK KonigSport Highsport Coilovers from venomsport for £546 delivered - Recomended by Elton at JabbaSport

I've got a SEAT Sport Momo strut Brace on its way.

Im getting my ECU re-mapped by JabbaSport this weekend, so I should have 205bhp by the weekend.

Plus Im getting my standard alloys refurbished and sprayed in anthracite on Monday...

Happy as a pig in ****!!! :D

Haha, I only paid £4500 for the car and I budgeted £6k so ive got that extra to play with. I'll ask Jabba what exhaust and air filter I should get as well, then after that i'll give the poor car a little rest mod wise.

You may as well just get a JR Cone filter for your motor (Thats what jabba use ).

Jabba will charge you £200+ for one of their kits when you can get the filter for about £40ish. Admittidly Jabba supply a heat sheild but its a lot of £££ for a filter.

Have u changed your DV yet?

DV is your Diverter Valve or ''Dump Valve'' as its often called. If your going for a remap its worth replacing the standard bosch valve for a Forge 007 or Forge Split R Valve. With a remap you will be running higher boost so the standard valve might not cope with extra boost. By replacing the valve it will handle the 20-22psi you will be doing.

Buy from forge and you can get discount
