Just browsing allards stuuf and they list an intercooler for the 130pd at £540, so nearly the same price as the GB forge one at £510.

But i have always thought the Forge one looks silly and not really too happy with the way that it mounts on the crash bar.

So is the allards one any bigger, anyone know the dimensions of the allards one, also any logs of the intake temps for both. wondering which way to chuck my money.

The fitting is great on the forge though?

But the allards kits look like more of a lash up (but maybe that's just me & those angular pipes)

Pays your money, takes your choice, but it's not all about the price you pay. Support, warrantee (not that you should want it) etc

nothing wrong with either I'm sure, but I'd feel happier knowing I had a tried & tested product, than be a guineapig

no fitting pipes, well theres the deal breaker.

Thats like selling a car with no wheels, bit pointless really.

Lots of new pipes and bumper cutting would have been required to get it to fit.

I take it by those comments that you dont like Allards then mork.Since Allards had there FMIC out along time before Forge did i think they would have had more time to solve any problems there might be with the product then Forge since theres has only just been produced and not even got a price on there web site yet so who is the guinea pig model of the two? As for pipes of coarse they both come with pipes if you want and Allards will supply and fit everything for £740 plus VAT. A group buy price is bound to be cheaper then a standard price since that is the whole idea of it thats why the Forge product is so cheap at the moment and if anyone is after a PD130 FMIC then thats the one to get at the moment. Spaniels said on the group buy thread that he paid nearly £200 more for his from Forge without the group buy.Allards and Forge both make very good products plus they are only about a mile apart from each other.I dont have any measurements for the Allard product but here is some site info about a golf pd130 FMIC that they do.

Now, now, come on girls, this is gonna turn out in a big debait soon, just like any of the remap (which is best) threads that have been around. Everyone has their own opinion but its upto the person who buys it at the end of the day. Without someone having both and giving a genuine comparison about both of them this thread will go nowhere.
Thats my two penneth.

ummm i only wanted to know what the difference was lads, and yeah reason i asked is cos allards seem to be the Diesel pros, what with their experience in prepping VW racings stuff and the boss also racing one.

I may go the seatsport route, with forge pipework, still not decided. Even so i know the seatsport is not as expensive as a couple have made out.

I mean christ i was tld silly figures for the 1.8T cupra one till i looked into it myself. I could reduce costs further by fabricating my own brackets which took up a lot of cost when ordering from seat, plus the pipes come out in the same place as the 1.8T so its easy enough to work out.

So the options seem to be allards, depepnding on cost. The forge one, but still not sure, or the good old seat sport one.

ummmm, think i really need to get the new Tdi and then whip off the bumper and see what i am up against. or i could just make up my own one again. Worked when i had the Punto GT.

Cheers guys
