Picked her up yesterday.

Felt a little wierd at first. plus the dealer made some **** ups.

Managed to fit chrome dash kit instead of Ali kit,a d also forgot the mats.
But on the upside, as the guy who done the deal was not there the girl who sorted me out ended up giving me my old tax back ( £130 zoinc) the deal was i left it on there and they taxed the new one, i don't think so now.

Also took a while to get used to it. But the car has only done short distances with the previous owner as brake disc wear shows. but not a single stone chip on her.

So i quickly changed the aerial and Wing mirror covers when i got home and ripped out the dealer sticker in the window. Then took her out. Done 250 miles yesterday and even took it up to southend and te basildon cruise. lets just say it shocked quite a few people and me, especially against an old astra GSi as we level pegged all the way.

Only trouble is no, smoke, even in the headlights at night, my old golf tdi used to smoke loads, may be that will change when the remap is done.

anyway heres a quick pic yesterday,

looks good. how come you changed the mirror covers ant?

Cos the silver ones on the platinum grey look tosh. It looks like you have tried to colour code em yourself and then messed up the colour match. looks better on black, red , blue, though.

THe covers are Stephen)'s old ons off his cupra.

also a little bit wierd as the suspension is a lot better on the TDi, a lot less crashy than in the 20Vt.

Also the brakes on this one seem to be amazing. When i put the standard ones back on the RED one they felt like shite, so when i pickd this one up and drove out the delaership at touched the brakes on this one i nearly hit the dash. very strange.

Although these ones do seem to be very well worn.

overall 150% pleased i did the swap now. Just have a few ideas suddenly popped up for the exterior, as getting a couple of bits sprayed and telpted to chuck these other bits on at the same time.

oh and the usuall suspects egine wise.

That's a very nice colour - especially with the sunset reflecting off it! I can see why you changed the mirror covers though - mine's a Luna Grey (basically silver), and the FR covers look like a perfect colour match with that.

 Wasn't the whole point of getting a diesel to save money not to spend yet more on mods?

You know I had all these plans for mine, which probably ran into approx £1500, but I'm now thinking if i should put on the mortgage to reduce my interest. Oh why cant I have everything:(
