Alice Cupra gets de-swirled

Matt booked in with his Black LCR. Now I've come across a couple of these cars this year, so knew exactly what i was letting myself in for. This is also the first of my new 'come to learn' details where owners get a full on part in the detail.

Just one small defference with this detail. The Metabo :D

Here's the before shots with the car looking pretty nice from Matt's quick wash the day before:

So why had matt brought his LCR to FinerDetails?
lots of these:

and just as many around the car of these:

Wash:
Karchered down, fairy liquid to remove any left over wax, arches and alloys APC.
We then clayed using DP clay and the foam gun, re-rinsed and Matt sprayed it down with the standard hose. Dried using the monster sized towel from Motorgeek, using pat and drag drying technique to demo how Matt would be caring for it from here on in.

we then recorded the PDG's:

De-swirl:
Pinnacle Advanced swirl remover on a polishing pad with the rotary (me).
Matt followed me round using the PC, a polishing pad and Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish.

Sealant and Wax:
I applied Wolfgang Deep Gloss sealant using the PC and a finishing pad. Whilst this was curing we applied Megs #20 sealant to the alloys and side windows.

(stopped to consume pizza), I then wiped the Wolfgang clear. I then applied Pinnacle Souveran Wax to the car, Matt following in tow wiping clear. I then gave the whole car a quick wipe down with Pinnacle Crystal Mist to remove and left overs from the masking tape.

Alloy and Tyres:
Alloys megs #20, tyres Amor All Tire Gel.

Huge thanks to Iain for the de-swirl from hell.

Seriously, the photos can't really show just how bad the swirling was when we started.

It actually looked as if I have been using a pan scrub to clean the paintwork for the last 3 years! Here's a 'before' shot I took of the bonnet under the halogen lamps to illustrate:

It was good to get a "hands on" approach to the detailing, as I'm not one who can sit around all day drinking tea (nice though it was.... :snack: ) and have some input into the outcome of the day.

You may also have noticed that I took the opportunity of the day to de-badge the car completely. Not only did it look good, but it made the panel work a heck of a lot easier, as you weren't dodging the badges, then trying to clean the product from behind them.......

Now its up to me to wash and wax the car properly from here on.

Oh, and Iain, sorry but I gave in after I got home. There is now a lone "R" on the bootlid....

Recommendation of Finer Details? Most definitely! The results speak for themselves. [B)]
