My Alhambra's Aux heater is not working properly. It gives cold air for a long time bafore it warms up. I was told , its thermostat need to be replaced.
Can anybody tell me where its thermostat is located.
My car is 1.9TD, year 2000. X-Reg new shape.

normally over the gearbox 'somewhere' in the coolant pipes - check the theory by starting the car from cold & see if the top radiator pipe gets warm early on

I just changed the Stat on SWMBO 51Plate 1.9Tdi 115 (Engine Code AUY) It was behind the alternator, just to the right. Not a impossible task, but you will need 10mm socket, 1/4 Drive and a UJ.

FYI, it made naff all difference to the slow to warm up problem, I am now looking elsewhere :-(

Its probably not firing and wants either a glow plug in it or replacing if the glow plug does nothing.
The sure way to tell is if someone reads the faults stored on the auxhillary heating CU (address 18) with VCDS or a code reader which would show "flame interuption" faults several times.
