Alarm sounds as soon as engine started!

Hey guys,i've just bought a Seat leon Cupra TDI,i have a major problem tonight.The engine will start but alarm sounds straight when started and wont stop!
Disconnected battery.
Lock/unlocked loads.
Open/close all doors.
Pressed alarm button on driver pillar!and nothing!

The minute the engine starts,the led on driver door starts flashing,about five seconds later indicator lights flash and alarm sounds

Does anybody out there know what to do?????The neraest Seat dealer is about 40 miles away.please please help.

how is it that you are unlocking the doors, are you using the remote central locking or are you using the key in the lock?

i think there is somehting funny that if you use your key in the door you have 30 secs to start it or the alarm will go off. but if you use the key fob, it disables the alarm ?

edit: stolen from another post. it says in the manual:
For vehicles equipped with an additional
alarm system* , if you access the
car by using the driver’s door key you
have 15 seconds to introduce the key into
the ignition lock and activate it. Otherwise
the alarm will trigger off for 30 sec.
and car start up will be deactivated.
You can only turn off the alarm by pressing
the "open" key on the remote control.
For cars without radio-frequency remote
control keys you must wait for 30 sec.
until the alarm cuts off. Then close the
door with the key and repeat the previously
described process all over again.
The alarm signal will be triggered for 30
seconds if access is attempted via any
door that is not the driver's.

might be whats wrong ?

I've tried both.
The car locks/unlocks fine with fob.Minute the engine starts (not when ignition on)alarm cuts in.

There is no door lock on driver door because it was damaged in a break in about a year ago with a friend of mine so replaced with a blank,but had no problems at the time.
So tried the boot lock,made no change!
Any ideas mate as im buggered to take it to work tomorrow.
I am mechanicaly minded if i need to stip anything but its obviously dark at mo
