Alarm problems

Hi all Newbie
Altia 1.9 tdi new type 09 reg Alarm goes off for no reason. Agent can not find fault they say SEAT know about this but have no fix say all the wright things trying to find fix etc
They do not have to grovel with the nieghbours. When it goes off early hours of the morning. Dose anyone have a fix? thanks Chipswith

Our XL is on its third alarm. First one kept going off for no reason after a particularly heavy downpour, turned out water had somehow got into the horn unit as was setting it off as the system thought someone was trying to tamper with it. Replacement unit sorted that out but then failed about a year later when I accidentally locked the the mother-in-law in the car )) and noticed that the lights were flashing but no horn. Third unit fixed that problem, but they couldn't offer an explanation for why the second one had failed.

If the car is that new then ask them to replace it under warranty, that's what they've done for ours.

Alternatively, try parking in a prominent position outside the dealership, wait for the alarm to go off and then develop acute deafness whilst wandering around the showroom - might be surprising how fast they find a solution when it starts annoying salesmen and potential customers....

Good idea that megdayptes leave the car out side the agents

Thing have moved on since contacted by agent to take car in for a fix
let you know what happens

It has been 3 weeks since fix touch wood alarm has not gone off may have fixed it keep fingers crossed
