alarm fuse location?

Hi guys, first post on the forum. Have a problem with my `56 plate leon tdi, the alarm keeps going off for no apparent reason. I have been told locking with the key can silence the alarm but but not sure of that advice. I know the sounder can be silenced with pulling fuse 17 but can't find where the fuse box for it is located. I know where the fuse box is under the bonnet but fuse 17 appears to be located inside the cab just above the driver's right knee but there doesn't appear to be any access panel that I can see. I would appreciate any help in locating fuse 17 as having the alarm go off at 3 a.m. one morning and 5.30 a.m. another and anytime during the day neighbour relationships are becoming strained. It's a triangular panel on the end of the dashboard up against the door. No. 7 on the diagram.

in my book it says it should be behind panel 10 on that diagram but i had a look and its not but i couldnt get panel 7 off u may need a big screwdriver and hammer lol

Thanks dazvessey for reply - took out torch for a quick look at panel on passenger side and don't see any obvious way of getting it off. Part of it appears to go under the sill kick plate. I thought perhaps I was looking for a small triangular plate not the whole panel at the A frame. Or did I look on the wrong side? Left it unlocked tonight to keep the neighbours happy. Now totally

I think you'll find panel 10 is the Relay Panel or the Diagnostic Port.

if you press lock button on fob twice it turns part of the alarm off some part of the sensor i read it in the book wen i got the car maybe try that or have you got a big spider living in the car triggering the sensor lol

Thanks dazvessy - tried pressing the remote lock button twice to disarm the movement sensors but again didn't work alarm still went off. Tried leaving it unlocked last night not realising it locks itself if the key is out the ignition and it went off twice through the night 2.30 and just after 5 am. Ended up putting the spare key in the ignition and leaving it unlocked - not a very good idea I know and could have insurance probs if nicked, but at least It kept it quiet. rgds, dru.

oh dear thats a bit risky mate its got some issue with the alarm somewhere do these vagcom jobbies have a function to check the alarm see if its got any faults in it?

I can't be any help on alarm fuse but if you lean in through a rear door and press the lock button on the centre console and then close the rear door this should lock your car without the alarm.
It should think you are inside so won't ARM the alarm.
This may get you through until you find the problem.

Nipped out to car and tried your suggestion Kevs fr and it seems to work - no flashing light on the passenger door. Unfortunately I seem to have built in another problem - pulled fuse 17 earlier and had door open warning light on all the time on the dash and central locking not working with the remote. I put the fuse back in but no luck, light still on dash and c/l still not working. Was thinking on disconnecting the battery for a couple of hours (done it with a beamer) to see if the system would reset itself but don't know if I would lose the radio as I haven't got any code for it and don't even know if it needs one.

Your door open warning must be what's causing the alarm to go off.
If you disconnect the battery you won't lose your radio code.
Try opening and closing all the doors and boot first. It's worth a try mate.

Dru, I also have the alarm issue which is common apparantly on the MK2 leons. The fault is to do with the door control modules and there is one on each front door. With the units mounted inside the door panel, they are exposed to water and I think the units are not built very well and cannot resist water ingress which is why they fail. My driver door unit first caused the alarm to go off and this was due to the rear window control not working from the driver control. This was replaced and on the same day the passenger door modulewas showing the door open warning which also caused to alarm to activate. I've heard both units need to be replaced as the new units just confuses the older unit. They are pretty expensive (around £220 each) so I would speak to Seat UK first and try get a discount before you try and get it repaired. VAG COM should tell you which one is faulty.

Been in touch with with an indy this morning who has VAG COM software and to phone him back to get a slot to have a look at it. Disconnected the battery this morning to see if system may reset. Hi, just got your post I finally got the car on the vagcom code reader and it showed up that the pass door locking module was faulty - fortunately the firm I bought from gave me a six month warranty and it was replaced under this. I believe these are expensive but honestly don't know the price. Thers a neat trick on one of the posts telling how to fool the alarm using the back door. rgds dru.

I've got the same issues on my2007 1p FR . I keep getting a battery drain and my alarm keeps going off. I've noticed the front passenger door keeps showing open when infact its closed. I've now unplugged the passenger door lock so even if I open the door the display shows closed. I'm still having the issue though and on my way to work last night my car started beeping saying the passenger door was open again. How can the car think that door is open even if I've unplugged it .the fact that in my history my car had a full new lock set due to this issue under warranty just shows the people above know these cars have fudge like door systems
