Alana head unit with cd changer

Been trying to find a seat aura cd head unit because i'm fed up of always having to swap discs in the changer. They seem to be quite hard to come by, but i want an original seat unit because

1 - im not fussy about flashy expensive head units anymore, the aura sounds good and looks standard

2 - I want to keep the cd changer

3 - i want to keep the dash display (its a mk2 toledo)

The alana head units seem much easier to come by, and seem to go for lower prices. Does anyone know if the alana works with the cd changed provided with the aura head units?
How about the display on the dash?

Alana head unit

Hi, i've been waiting to answer this for about 3 weeks now as i've been waiting for my missus to pick up her 53 plate beeza as i had the same query.

Well here goes,

The Alana does work the changer and all functions will work, i.e. illumination, speed controlled volume etc...

now the bad news:cry:

this head unit along with the aura cd head unit will not work the dash display as the later models did not have it also the alana has a curved face and the middle of the unit will sit out from the dash it also tilts back so does not fit in the adapter plate properly.

So all in all it will work and does not look to bad but just doesn't look the part compared to the Aura.

I recently got an aura cd unit off ebay, just over £100 so bide your time and get an aura.

I managed to find an Aura CD on ebay, which fits beautifully, cost me £70 from germany :)

Now the bad news.....
If the car it came from didnt have the auxiliary display (only the SE had it i believe) then that wont work. I'm trying to figure out if its a VAG-COM thing or perhaps a hidden menu option somewhere...
