aircon regasing?

yell.co.uk as i pmed you matey if its more than 60 quid from normal aircon people you may as well use a dealer as they dont charge much more.

Just phoned LC Charles in Crewe and they want £80 +vat for a regas.

IMG in Warrington want £85 +vat

Premier Garage in Stoke-on-Trent wants £95 all in.

£95 for a regas does anyone know of any cheaper in the crewe area?

you could try not using a garage to do it, but an air con specialist, for example in buckingham theres a chap in a van who only does air con, comes to your place and regasses it for £60. have a browse of yell.com or the pages.

I bet as soon as I get it done we'll have nothing but cool weather.

is your temperature display playing up? worth checking first as if the sensor is reading incorrectly i believe this will effect the temperature of the air con system

Nah, the external temp sensor is working just fine, the effectiveness of the Aircon has been decreasing over the past year.

The car itself is 4 years old but only done 32k so it hasn't been regassed since new.

So hopefully get it charged up on Saturday and be cool once more.

Was just interested if anyone in the Northwest had any recommended A/C guys.

Just had my regas done, brilliant cool once more and didn't even have to go to the stealers.

The guy who did it Martin Kitt from Aircon National who covers Stafford, Cheshire and as far north as Yorkshire did my regas for £65

I had my wifes ibiza tdi done too, following this thread in july. He came out very quickly, But all he does is top it up From what I am told you are supposed to pressure test the system, then purge and re fill with new stuff. Hence it lasted only 6 weeks. He came back last week, said it was leaking, But he should have tested this before He was only here for 10 mins previously £65 ! Now wants £220 to fix it. I had no faith whatsoever in him he didn`t seem to know much about what he was doing at all.

Hence I booked it into premier seat in stoke who did all the checks/refilled and no leaks found. Blamed it on a crap job done before with incompatable refridgerent, You are supposed to change it not top it up. They charged me £56
So take your car to the people who know your car, cost me twice as much this way.

im in the need for air con regas.... 1st placed i phoned was seat in stoke... £50 all in now....! £45 cheaper than 4 years ago...? thought prices were going up in this country....lol

And these cans will soon be banned by the imi, they contain polymer beads which can block the condenser and also don't give the correct weight of oil.

£50 is a good price mate, remember to get the anti bacterial treatment done and the pollen filter changed (if you have one)
