Aircon pipes 1.2 SX

I parked up the car after a longish run on a very hot day. There was water dripping down the back of the headlamp cover which was odd. This seemed to be coming from the pipes which rise behind the left of the radiator and then run inside of the bodywork to the bulk head. The pipes look like a combination of sections ordinary hoses and alloy. Where the water seemed to be coming from was a plastic valve at the top.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal and what the valve is for?

I'm not too sure.
But I do know mine drips if I have had the AC on for a while.
Its condensation build up on the pipes because they are that cold.

After a long run, a large puddle of water can form under the car.

This is normal but I have never had a look to see where the water is actually dripping from.

Yes, there was a fair bit of water dripping from under the bulkhead. But from pipes right behind the radiator seemed a bit odd.

Do you know what liquid is in these aircon pipes. Is it part of the coolant system ie. connected to the radiator system or something else ?

am i not right in saying its just condensation? every cars air-con system ends up dripping........

put the aircon on for a while does the pipe get cold, if so then its just condensation on the pipe.

Mine does it nothing to worry about.

The liquid/gas in these pipes will be R134 - it could be that your system is "short" of charge so now needs re-charging and that is what is causing the pipes to be chilled where they leave the condenser.
