airbox mod make the car any louder??

thinking on doing the airbox modification on my lcr dont like the sound of these induction kits knackering the maf, anyhow does anybody who has done this mod think it has made the car sound any different aswell as performance wise. cheers for any help.:)

I have the BMC induction kit with the baileys DV30 recirculating valve and it sounds really good.

Either BMC/Dynatwist for IK and Forge 007/Baileys DV30 for valves and you'll get a good noise.

Its only cheap oil soaked filters that will damage your MAF.

These items above have all been tried and tested and never heard any complaints about any of them

You'll not get a good noise with the original airbox and standard valve

if u want a subtle noise, but not mental. then the airbox mod is a good and cheap choice.wont get much performance difference. The sound is more like a "scooby" sound as u accelerate.

I smoothed mine and ran a cold air feed into an enlarged hole in the end of the airbox.

Currently the hole is slightly bigger (5mm) than the cold air feed (because I had a connector that I've since taken off) and it makes a loud induction and dumping sound.

Will get hold of some piping and start it this weekend, hopefully I won't need to move the battery if I dont go to big on the pipe, wow dremel are big bucks, cheap and cheerfull mini drill i think!!!
