Airbag Light

My air bag light on me ibiza cupra is constantly on i have had it on a vw test machine and it comes back with drivers air bag ignitor switch low voltage. Has anyone got any idea's on what it might be as vw think its slip ring on the steering wheel and it costs about £100 ish :doh: thanks in advance

doh mines doing this too

a slip ring for £100 though? hmmmmm not sure on that one

but if there saying its the switch.....replace it?

sometimes it's just a bad contact that lits up the airbag light,,, dunno if it's the case but worth a check in another garage and a search [here, on google and other VAG related forums] with EXACT code number and message.

I got the same problem after my car went to revision because a crack in the steering wheel.

The error and the indicator was cleaned twice and the light came again. The same error, low voltage.

At this moment the car is with the dealer, they will change the airbag ring under warranty. I hope this will be the last time that I visit the dealer for that situation.

thanks for your replys @ IB1_FR let me no how you get on and if it cures your problem as i was just going to clean all the contacts meself but if the slip ring sorts it ill just replace it :)

53.5 kilometers from dealer to home. the airbag light didn´t turn on.
