Airbag light and now starting problems? ARRGGHH

Hey guys,

Cars booked in AGAIN (4th time this year) as my airbag light is on. Anyone else had this issue before? It happened a few times when I got the car a year ago, but never since. I hope it doesnt keep coming on, its just an inconvenience!

Gonna get the knocking suspension and MAF sensor looked at too, while its in. Ive got 15months left on the warranty, I wonder how many times it has to go back? LOL

Its just piddly little things like that that make me want to leave SEAT ownership. Ive had the car a year and since then its been back to the garage around 6 or 7 times (2 different garages all work done under warranty)

Its just a shame as I love the car.

did they tell you which airbag is triggering it, probably the side airbags, which only need to be knocked to trigger the light, also moving them for rear access to back seats can sometimes trigger them, they can be easy to trigger for some reason. bung it on vagcom and you will know straigt away. Over cause on the Mk4 is the slip ring on the steering wheel, but that only tends to bugger up if the wheel has been removed a lot.

To add insult to injury, the car wouldnt start when I left work tonight. After a few minutes of panicking, I managed to get it started but its ran like a bag of **** all the way home. I think my fuel pump is knackered, and im fast losing my patience with this car :( The noticable mechanical pumping sound when you open the door has disappeared, and I always notice it as I get in the car, its pretty loud.

Managed to get it home though, which I was happy about. It doesnt help that SEAT cant fit me in until next Thursday with a courtesy car. Its going back in the morning, if it doesnt start first time.

SEATs, pffft, who'd have em :(

Cars been back to the garage, and to my complete and utter disappointment, the airbag light stayed off for all of a night. Start up this morning and the light is on again. Im getting sick, after this being my ninth or so time back at the garage I think im finally losing faith with SEAT. They apparently solved the erratic idling (which is still there) and the creaky suspension (I have yet to drive it further than 15 miles to notice if this has been done)

Can someone give me some words of encouragement to make me stay loyal to SEAT? Its not the first time ive thought about getting rid and going for a Honda

Cheers,

Cheers Guinness,

Just spoke to SEAT again this afternoon, the service manager had something different to say. Apparently it was noted that my Airbag was faulty (wtf?) and that a new part has been ordered to replace it. Im not happy at all, no one said this to me yesterday. I was told it was all repaired for me, not that it needed extra parts etc. Fair enough its done under warranty, but its more time off work and more farting around.

What would have happened if I had been in a head on collision today? It would have been nice to have been told my airbag was donald ducked.
