After cleaning my car on Friday, my airbag light has appeared and will not go away!
Im guessing i have knocked a plug or cable under the seat when hoovering.

I did a search and found a few threads, but no one really had an outcome to report back with.

So has anyone else had this problem and how did they/the dealer fix it?

Also, my car is out of warranty so how costly is this going to be??:(

Dont want to state the obvious but have you tried turning the passenger airbag on / off with the key and checked all your airbags? If this doesnt reveal the problem looks your going to need to get your car plugged into the diagnosid machine. It could be something very very simple.

I've had the light come on twice

First it was the wiring loom in one of the seats, fairly simple job

Secondly it was one of the side airbags, the dealer told me that it was 3.5 hours worth of labour but luckily it was in warrenty.

When you consider how many airbags their are, it could cost you anything.

More than likely the connection under the seat. I had exactly the same problem. Took it to an independant VAG garage and they sorted it out, no problems since.

Cheers guys.

I tried that turning off the passenger and rear airbags, but i had no luck :(

Im pretty sure, that once the light is on, it needs reset by a garage. Atleast thats how it was in my old car.
Its not a simple job of plugging it back in.

I will try and get to a garage sometime this week, hopefully a specialist too, and not SEAT.

Can it be reset in VAGCOM?
