Air Vent Removal

Had my car for just over 2 weeks now but I've one minor problem that I really can't be bothered to go to the dealer for them to look at.

The drivers side air vent will not turn off. The little wheel to turn it of and on just spins round with no effect. Anyone know how the vent comes out so I can have a look myself?

(Well it wouldn't turn on, so I closed all the other vents and blasted the air through which must have opened it up, and now it won't turn off)

Also, I seem to have a little bit of play on the brake pedal. seems to wobble left to right a little (about 1mm or so) Not a lot but just noticeable when you foot is on it. Anyone else?

The air vents are a bit of a pain to take out. You have to prise them off in the right place as they are cliped on, but in doing this the dash around the vents can get damaged.
