Air recirculation and suspension

Hi all,

I posted recently asking for advice because when I had passengers in the back I was hearing rubbing/grinding sounds when going over bumps and up hills etc. Anyway, it turns out the rubbing is my stiff and low mudflaps, phew!

Today I switched on the air recirculate button and it won't go off! Rather annoying, any suggestions for an easy fix?

Thanks

Sorry if this is obvious, but you're trying to switch it off by pressing the "auto" button rather than the "recirc" one aren't you?! If you are and the recirc sign is still displaying it may be worth checking that it is not actually switching over (for example is there any change in fan speed when you do it or does the car tend to mist up more now?). The reason I mention that is because my button works but I have the opposite where the display no longer shows when it is on recirc. I just double-check I press auto to make sure it's not still on.

My tolly doesn't have air-con as it's an EU import. Anyhoo, gave it a good whack and it's off now. Shame really 'cos I'm gonna have to avoid using it from now on unless I get a garage to investigate and fix. Can't be bothered with the time and expense. Thanks for the reply.

Playing about with mine yesterday while modifying the dash, If you turn the heated rear window switch to the heated rear window symbol it pops out the recirculate button, Doesn't yours do this
