Air Intake

I've a 110bhp TDI Toledo....where is the Air intake ?.............reason I ask is with all these deep water around & Petrol cars coming to a stop in the middle of deep water.......I quickly thought when I was going through one of these "rivers" through the road..."what about my air intake" & water getting into that.

I recall a few years back my boss in his Golf GTI TDI going through some water & it got sucked up into the engine................engine rebuild required !!!

i think its attached to the slam panel on the N/S over the headlight.

Thanks...thats sort of good news...................was a bit worried when I thought about the Golf GTI TDI.......maybe he went in at a rate of knots & created a bow wave ?.............or maybe knocked a pipe off the IC ?
