Air driven polishers?

I wouldn't mind picking up a decent polisher for my car, but as always the missus controls the purse strings and I'm on a very strict budget. I do have an air compressor though, and it would seem that air driven tools are a little cheaper than their mains equivalents.

Is there anything I need to take into account, or should I just avoid air tools altogether for a decent polish job?

There is nothing nicer to use than air tools but for the likes of air polishers and sanders you need a fair size of a compressor to get any value out of them. You would need at least a 100 litre tank and 3 hp motor. Even with my 200 litre/3 hp compressor, I have to stop every 5-10 mins to let it recharge when using a sander.
