I need some help! I started my car up today and the air conditioning was working ok, then i noticed when i was on the motorway that it wasn't working, it should of been like a fridge in there! Anyway, i drove bout 10 miles, and then a light came on and it beeped at me on the temperature thing on the dash and it was right up near 120 on there.

So i parked up and left my car for a couple of hours, then i went back and it was starting to go up again on the temperature, and the only way to make it go back down to 90 was to turn the heaters on and turn the AC off. Now my air conditioning doesn't work at all :(

Hopefully someone understands what the hell i'm on bout!!!

If I understand you right, you have an engine cooling problem, possibly a broken water pump, or a radiator fan failure. Check the fan fuses.

Putting the heater on adds another radiator into the cooling circuit - the heater matrix - with an independent fan. Still sounds like a cooling failure. Check the coolant level too.

One other thing that would cause this effect would be if the radiator and aircon heat exchanger had become masked, say by a plastic sheet or something blown under the grill, or substantial blockage of the radiator and heat exchanger fins. Bit of a long shot though.

black turbo's right. far left fuse on top of the battery controls the engine fan and the air conditioning. A very common fault water gets under them and corrodes the connectors

as a quick replacement you can replace the fuse (30 amp) if it isn't too rusty but you will have to replace the fuse box on top of the battery as once it's happened it keep on happening

this is scary!!!!

I put the peugeot in for a new aircon condenser (got a hole in it following a grit lorry:( )

included in the fitting was a re-gas, so for the first time in a long time, i had cold air :)

But, when i picked the car up, every time i hit the "auto" button to activate the climate aircon, i get a flashing "stop" light and a double Beep (about at 10 second intervals) with the second Beep throwing a head up display of "engine temp too high"

The engine temp is not too high (90'c for water, and 110'c for oil) and it happens from cold start

the flashing light and beep stop as soon as aircon is turned off???

it's been back to the garage for a new temp sender, but the problem still occurs??

I know this is on a peugeot, but if anyone can give any ideas as to why, it wouls be greatly appreciated. i've spent about £600 on sorting the problem out, and it's still occuring :censored:

yes but i guaranty it will happen again, the fuse blows because water gets behind it if it's done it once it will happen again

Your problem can be simply that the Termostat is stuck... you can know this by touching your Upper coolant hose and the middle lower one... if upper is hotter than lower then you have that problem. change it and you are donne...

i reckon this must be what is wrong with mine as the fuse box is missing the cover, can you get the cover only or do you need to buy the whole box?
