Air con Help

Hi guy's & gal's,

Just took delivery of a 99 Cordoba S 1.6 and am having some problems. As a total newbie to this kind of thing I am hoping for some guidance on the most annoying issue with my motor.

When i turn the blower on its always cold whether i have the air con or re-circ buttons depressed or not. This inevitably leads to the windows steaming up pretty quickly and badly. However when i start to drive the car the heater starts to work and the air is warm.

Problrm with this is when i stop at traffic lights etc the air changes from hot to cold (because the engine is no longer revving) and the windows steam up so quickly i usually have to pull over and try to get the to de-mist before i can start off again.

Hoping someone on here can help?

Thanks in advance

sounds daft but for obvious things (and easy) check engine water level (expansion bottle) first

if it's low - fill it to the level but check regular for a while in case you have a leak

Thnks for the reply Fl@pper - all the levels are fine, I have just noticed that this problem only occurs when the revs drop below 2000 rpm.

Don't understand this at all, surely this isn't the way the car was designed?
