Ask him how he knows

My passenger side was ok, but the drivers was a complete A**e to get off, it took some tapping on the side of it to just break the corrosion, and then wiggling to get it orf. I was quite scared that I might break it, but it all worked out in the end.

I put a piece of wood on one side and tapped the other side with a hammer with a bit of cardboard inbetween the hammer and the wiper arm base, I did this gently, and then wiggled it a bit, and it was just enough to break the corrosion holding it in place. The cardboard also served as a protection as it was over the surrounding painted areas. I stress it was only light taps, with a small hammer, but was enough to break the corrosion weld, oh and keep the nut on a few turns so if it comes loose quickly you don't fall on your bottom.

Lift them up as u would do when cleaning ur car and wiggle left to right they should release , failing that push down on the elbow joint and at the same time put ur fingers underneath and it should release it for u , failing that nip ur car into a windscreen place i.e RAC autowindscreens  askone of the blokes there to help u ..

or wait till ur tool arrives

I had a professional windscreen fitter do mine and looking at him its soo easy:

Basically just push down on the arm about a 1/3 of the way from the nut (where there is a hinge) making sure theres something underneath to stop it fouling. Keep pushing with the whole force of your body (the guy rocked the car doing it) and eventually you could see it wiggling free.

Today I finally saw the end of the torment I was going through in removing those silly wiper arms. I had to buy a special wiper arm removal tool £10.
Fitted my aero wipers looks awesome....wish I did it when I first bought the car.:funk: :funk: :funk:

simple. done mine yesterday, tried tapping with hammer, stunning the old blade with sharp shots from the spanner, wd40, ac-90, bit of penetrating oil. Pulling hard .
Nothing, absoloutely nothing,

Sweared some more.

Then tyried pull hard but slowly one way, ie backwards, then push it back hard but slowly the othere way, then they just ease off, noth were off in a second, now i have lovely aero wipers, ta da.
