Right anyway its still annoying me. I have an aerial aplifier, but when i remove the aerial I get no signal and with a short aerial I get very little signal, surely this cant be right. Any ideas what the fault may be?
its since I removed this aerial I checked the wiring in the back of the headunit even checked all the solder joints and there all spot on fine. So im thinking its the back end of the aerial I will take it apart and take some pictures later
not only the VW adapter thing needed for the aftermarket headunit it sounded a bit better when i got that but its still not great on any radio station.
I want to change the aerial but am worried it'l sound worse and it sounds like a nightmare to remove!
aye mine has seemed to mess up after I changed the aerial thinking of dismantling it and putting some metal foil in to inprove the contact between the aerial rod and the metal base. Iv had it appart before but tought it was ok
now you've really put me off changing it! Take it to a dealer see if they can help, sounds like you've had a problem with it for a while now.
Some people on here said if you saw of the top part of the aerial it still sounds okay and looks better!
aye av cut mind down now its not 2 bad, I can live with it and the cost for seat to find the problem seems like a bit 2 much really. I will have a look tomorow was just wondering if anyone had any ideas what the prob cud be
bout half way enough 2 clear the garage roof, without having 2 put it down. Al be taking pics on tuesday so u will be 2 see then. Also put some perminant marker on the end as the inside is white
