hi people,

got a lean cupra r last week and i noticed in first and 2nd its wheel spins really bad, is this normal and will this be worse if i get a revo remap? also what other mods are advised if i get a remap? i currently have a full stainless exhaust but was wondering do i need a dump valve?

Thanks

and your likely to get wheel spin more the more power you have. its all about throttle control:)

what exhaust do you have? is it cat back? have you considered dp and decat? that would be my next mod...in fact it is my next mod!

and if you want to be able to hear dv you'll want an open air induction kit or upgraded air filter.

i belive its a milltek exhaust, i think it might be just the back box though. yeah im planning on an induction kit to, i didnt think u need this in order to hear the dump valve? what would you recommed for a seat k&n? coming form jap cars i know nothing about seats, cheers

these VAG engines arent like scoobys and evos. the dv is more a recirc valve which recirculates the air back into the air intake rather than dump the air into the atmosphere. so to hear it the more air flow you have the better, and without the standard air box its even louder thats why i opted for the K+n.

i can here the turbo spool up then dump off on release. still not super loud though so dont expect to be scaring old people on the pavement!

having said that forge do the split R dv which is 50-50. puts some air back into the intake and some into the atmosphere. can be difficult to set up i believe though.

im happy with my k+n - 007 set up anyway.

personally i'd recommend a green cotton filter as oily filters such as K&N can bugga the MAF (hit and miss tho!). search for dog bone mount - this will help your wheel spin problem :)

ok thats cool, i think a k&n and a 007 will be fine, im not to bothered about it being loud, ive had enough scobbys and skylines now which is what i swapped it for the leon, something a bit more normal and less hassle to drive, but still nippy. cheers

If it's still got the Pirelli tyres then they will be the main reason for your lack of traction.
Also look out for Dog bone engine mount, this will reduce wheel hope and make the engine and gear change feel a lot more solid.
As DannyC87 said becarefull with olied filers, If your on a budget you could mod the O/E airbox and fit a high flow panel filter these give just as good gain's as an open filter
