Hi there guys and girls, Ive just joined the site and found out a lot from you guys so many thanks for that.

I have a query regarding my 1.6 16V SEAT its on a 54 Plate.

Ive read many threads regarding fuel types such as Shell Optimax or BP Ultimate but have never had a one sided opinion as which one to use.
My car manual states to use Super Unleaded, however ive always used normal shell unleaded petrol. (I only jus read the manual and had it a few months)

I live a lot closer to Shell Petrol stations, 3 in my area compared to 1 BP a few miles away, would you guys recommend me to use this high quality petrol in my car or stick with the normal unleaded and which petrol station to use.

Many thanks in advance ppl

Normal unleaded is perfect. you may get a little extra power out of the higher octane fuels, but it will be marginal, if any. Use the closest and cheapest of the fuel stations.

Many thanks for the advice on this.

I hear the higher octane fuels contain fuel treatment which is better for the car in the long rung. Is this true as I am planning on keeping my car for quite a while so prefer to pay the little extra, to keep it running nice n smooth as it already does anyway.

alternate every second or third fill up with the higher octane fuel, get the benefits of the additives without damaging the wallet too much.
