Hi guys... i fairly recently bought a mk3 Ibiza cupra running a k04 turbo and a few other mods around it... it didnt unfortunately have uprated conrods... guess what failed! I now have the engine apart and a newer donor bottom end.. I am looking to put some uprated rods in but i am on the other hand looking to do this as cheaply as i can get away with.. Basically id like some advice from some of you more experienced guys on which rods you'd recommend and if you would be doing anything else while you had it apart? thanks alot guys :)

Ie Rods.. £299 for some peace of mind
check the oil pump pickup strainer and clean it out whilst there..
usual cam belt bits using new would be again more peace of mind if you dont know the history of the new donor motor

IE Rods are a make.. Intergrated Engineering.. (which I stock usually)
If the rings are alien to the block I would check them throughly and if they are worn, replacement them, and run a quick hone down the bore to geglaze.

IE 144x20 rods are £299inc vat

ok thanks for that are the rods pretty generic across the range? As for the hone is this something i should do at home or get a specialist to do for me? Thanks alex
