Advice... maybe big ends gone, main bearings?

1.8T AGU

Its developed an awful knocking noise sometimes when started, its like a clunking sort of noise, and its just started making like a humming noise like somethings not happy. All sounds like its coming from the block so thinking maybe bearings of some sort? the knocking usually goes when its warmed up a bit, but the humming is constant now.

Is there any common problem with the bearings or anything? its actually a MK4 golf engine but i guess its the same as every other 1.8T

Any idea on the prices for a new set of main and big end bearings?

Pretty gutted really, not long been in and im having more and more issues with it.

Should be coming out soon so i can upgrade to k04 but not sure when thatll be...
If it is the bearings, what will happen if i keep driving it until i get the bigger turbo?

oil was done about a month ago... checked regularly

Couldnt possibly be the alternator belt and tensioner??
