Advice: Hesitation in 1st Gear

Good Afternoon & Merry Christmas all!

I was in Tesco car park this morning doing the usual Xmas shop and whilst spending a good 20mins looking for a Space to park my Fr TDi was playing up in 1st gear. Instead of moving smoothly across the car park, it was juddering along. I'm talking around 5-10 Mph. As soon as i got into 2nd gear it was fine. Any idea what this could be down to? Any advice would be good

Lol, no, I wasn't using the clutch. Just drove it again and its still happening

Mines done it a couple of times now, light throttle in first gear and it wont pull smoothly. Then next time you try it its fine...

yep, i've noticed this too. not done anything about it. It only happens when i give it little or no throttle (engine idle revs) - carparks, slow traffic etc. Apply a tiny bit of throttle and it's fine.

What could be the reasoning behind it? I mean, i had it a few times on my GTi-6 but that was due to a faulty throttle sensor, which i assume couldnt be the case in a brand new vehicle?
