\HI there,

I'm currently looking into buying a cupra r, and have a couple of questions;

What year was the 225bhp introduced
Is there much difference between the two?

Many Thanks.

Hi Mark,

225's will generally be on 53 plates onwards.

There is little difference between the two apart from a sexier steering wheel, an extra 15 bhp (which makes little difference and the both remap to the same power), a difference colour bootlid badge and tracker.

Hi, wondered if someone could give us some info :blink: have i got a 225 or 210?

I have an Aug '03 Cupra R. With tear drop mirrors, circle mat clips, R badge is red, red stitching on steering wheel??

On insurance my car comes up as 225 group insurance 17E?? Which is what im paying for at moment.

So really confused as i thought it was a 210??

Its a Mk1 , variant on log book says ABAMKX01??
Engine no. AMX... its black too.

Thanks

Sounds like you have the 210bhp AMK engine mate. Look under the boot carpet at the sticker and see what it says on there

Take the engine cover off and look at the little tab on the left hand front corner of the head It will either say amk or bam.
