Well here it goes.... My story so far

I had been looking for a MK3 Cupra for months, then in october i came across this:

73k on the clocks... Full Seat History... Just had Cambelt and waterpump change... and a Revo Stage 1 Map

Only Problem with it was bodywork.. so negotiations over email phone etc got enough money knocked off to more than cover my costs to get it up to par...

So i grabbed these..

Rented a trailer, hooked it up to a van and went 3 1/2 hours up to fife to get it and bring it back to Newcastle..

Anyways after a few days.. i decided that instead of pissing about getting panels sprayed and possibly getting a mis matched effect... a full respray was in

order.... And boy was it worth it.....

The finish on the paint was the best, i cant praze the sprayer enough... Along with a new bootlid to get rid of that rust the car was completly fixed... not

a mark on the bodywork at all.. So pleased

Anyways, i never liked the rims that are on it... infact... i hate the chavtastic mofo's so they were next on the list... and to replace them.....

i love the tinkered with OEM look...

So along with some coilovers, 20mm hubcentric spacers and some night time working this is what ive ended up with...

Ive Went and Fitted some 6k HID's and some clear sidelights... but i have no pics of these.

Well thats about the car so far... still some things to do....

The wheels are going anthersite to match the bumpstrips
and ive got an oval S/S exhaust to go on as the twin pipes just dont do it...

but thats about it.... Been waiting for my 10 posts so i could put these up lol..

but... enjoy

Well you have certainly brought it back from the brink and back to its former glory. Its amazing what a re-spray, a nice drop, spacers and a decent set of alloys can do. Good work mate, keep it up:D

Peanut butter!!! Awsomeness!

Looks fantastic with the spray, make sure you treat & protect it properly for the winter, be a shame to mess it up. Wheels will look better anthracite. Funny, didn't think the other wheels where too bad...?
Not bad progress in a month or so, what's next on the cards?

Whats on the cards next:

More tidying if im honest... The engine bay is the worst... looks like its never been cleaned since Day dot... Also while im there im going to do the N249 Bypass... just to make things look a little neater...

As for the paint... Well in the last 6 days ive washed it 3 times... OCD kicking in maybe... but with the roads at the moment, i aint going to let no salt into that paint... Next month, When the paints had time to harden... Its going off to my mate CupraElliott who is going to give it the full detailing / correction / protection treatment.... so... it will be in safe hands..

I was looking at KO3S Tubbys.. but there expensive and like rocking horses **** at the moment... The 196HP & 248ft Pounds is enough for me at the moment...

Thanks for the comments People's :D

Nice mate! she looks super dooper now! :D

How did you find the 20mm spacers? Rubbing on arches? or nice snug fit? [B)]

Thinking of going 20mm on mine aswell, as im also running the OEM cupra alloys :p

The 20mm spacers are a treat.. ive had people in the back and its low down on the coilovers, ive heard it rub once when going over a cambered roundabout on a dual carrageway at about 40.... but it left no marks or anything...

That actually reminds me, i need to wind the rear coilovers up 10mm just to match the front.. at the moment its a bit to low on the rear for my liking.

Just thought i would put a new pic of how the car stands now... been a few months

25660_389310848215_558768215_3823883_5519864_n.jpg

changes since last time, well only one really. got my oval exhaust on that replaced the twin pipe...

IMO the oval looks much better, however its deaper then the last exhaust and even tho i like the look of this oval more, i miss the howel and turbo rush noise of the twin pipe...

So apart from that its just been general maintenance.. brakes, serviceing etc... touch wood its running spot on... Oh and i got 4 new yokohama rubber treads on those rims.

i was debating on KO3's ing it.. but ive just bought this

got my test in the next few weeks, so for the time being this has taken some of the glory from the cupra....

loads of people at the moment i know are going in for there bike tests, so it was a now or never descision. decieded to buy before i passed because summer will be in full effect when im on 2 wheels, so got myself a generous saving :)

take it easy peoples
