My foreskin of a next door neighbour has opened his car door onto mine leaving me with a nice dent just above the bump strip at the rear of the front passengers door. Spoke to the dent removal guy we use at work who siad it would be no problem to remove but it would need stripping the door trim off the inside to get to it that way. He also said SEATs and other VW group stuff was a pain cos you have very little access once the door card was removed to the skin. Any one know if this is the case on an LCR? and if so whats the best technique to get to it?

The problem is the window mechanism and speakers are mounted on it so to remove it you have to support the glass and a fair amount of wiring.

See these 2 guides for an idea of whats involved.

Door card removal from SCN

Carrier removal from VWVortex

When you've looked through them you'll understand why they aren't keen to do it themselves. If you want to remove the bits yourself then they will have easy access to knock the dent out.

pretty easy to do, had to replace my mates window regulator in his leon, remove the door card and the black carrier panel, i would also remove the lock as its easier to get the panel back in when your finished. if you follow the instructions on that guides it should be a simple job to do.
